about

Phil Taylor from Tampa Florida started writing songs in his bedroom when he couldn't sleep at night. He would write romantic songs with surfy riffs to a drum machine to pass the sleepless hours.

During a stint of couch surfing Phil wrote the song "No Home for the Soul." This song would become the template for Sleeping Pills' sound. The desperation of homelessness fueled the writing of the rest of tracks that were demo'd during this period.

Phil's friend Carson Cox (Merchandise) heard this demo and the two set about recording the self titled Sleeping Pills record, out on 12/9 on Hidden Eye Records.
